and then he keeps walking like nothing happened. towards the hallway that he's leading William to.]
[ The jerky movements confirm his suspicions but he decides to keep silent. Instead he commits their path to memory and tries to observe as much as he can along the way to their destination. ]
[Jerry leads them down a hallway and stops in front of a rather nondescript door. he opens it, leading into an empty boardroom... and motions for him to go through.]
[William won't remember much after Jerry closes the door and the room goes dark. he may remember feeling judged, and voices from people he can't remember the faces of. he doesn't remember much, but he does remember the most important part:]
You, who are a monster in the guise of a man have come to stand before us to atone for your crime. To show commitment to rehabilitation, we have a request:
You hide things from your fellow humans, perhaps who you really are, or your past. You must show yourself and your true nature to others.
You have until May 10th to finish our task. If you complete it, you will be one step closer to returning home.
[when William becomes aware again, he's outside of City Hall, without Jerry as an escort.]
[ooc: the longer William takes to complete the council's request, the more nightmares he starts to have. he'll have nightmares of his home world, or even his past life -- that he remembers of it, anyway. he may even feel a pressure on his chest that will only be relieved when he speaks about it. if he fails to complete his task by the date given by the Council, he will be penalized for the next event.]

[he's going to open the door to let William in without much more fanfare.]
But as you can see, everything returned to normal.

You don't seem hurt at all, [ he comments, trying to fish for more explanation before whatever ruling he's supposed to face. ]

You're almost done.

[ He proceeds into the room carefully, looking around. Where are the people? ]
